The MRV will have total length of 25.5 meters, displacement of 110 tons, with steel construction and aluminum superstructure and wheelhouse. The vessel will belong to Category 3 according to navigation categories of seagoing ships, which include short coastal service. The MRV will be certified to carry 16 persons on one-day service, and 10 persons on a longer service period. Also, it will need to have space for technical functioning of the vessel, that will include dedicated space for undertaking monitoring and research activities and storage of related equipment. Maximum speed the vessel must be capable of is at least 16 knots in a sea state 1, and service speed of 12 knots.
