The school has a strengthened department of approx. 20 pupils and an introductory class of approx. 10 pupils. The school has a lack of space, which is temporarily solved by a module building at the school place. Åstveit School also has challenges when it comes to universal design, as well as comments from environmental healthcare for the trafical system for the reinforced department. The taxis currently travel to the school place. The project shall be carried out with nearby sports facilities and sixth form colleges in operation. This sets requirements for the contractor regarding facilitation, planning and organisation. It is particularly important to ensure fire safety and escape routes, handle noise and dust problems, ensure safe accesses and generally have a strong focus on SHA. A feasibility study and sketch project has been carried out.
