The bridge is connected to the east and west side of Tretten together and it is a part of county road 254. The bridge was a truss bridge made of steel and wood. The main span was 70 metres and the total bridge was 148 metres long with two lanes and pavements. Work was initiated immediately after the use of the bridge to put in place a temporary bridge. Temporary bridge, stand-by bridge loaned by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, came into place in the summer of 2023. The temporary bridge has 10 years approval. At the same time work on the temporary bridge, work was initiated on the locatio
