The CT shall be placed in the radiology department in the Central Block and operation is expected during the day and in the afternoon, estimated 30 - 40 patients each day. The machine shall be able to meet an increasing need for good diagnostics and CT guided intervention for the next 10 - 12 years. The primary use for the CT is outpatients patients, especially cancer reviews including packaging pathways and cancer controls. The machine shall be able to carry out all types of CT examinations that are expected from a university hospital, with the exception of heart examinations. The machine shall not have an emergency function, including stroke patients/trauma. The machine shall cover the need for CT guided intervention, e.g. lung biopsy, biopsy of muscle/skeleton, treatment of bone cysts and nerve blockades.
