management support and documentation. The assistance is provided continuously, but the size of the assistance will vary slightly based on the assignment quantity throughout the year. Bergen municipality uses Robotic Process Automation, RPA, for streamlining and increased degree of automation of work processes. Based on RPA technology, the concept "Digital Employee", also called "Digifrid", was established. The development work started in 2016 and the municipality ́s digital employee is now responsible for a number of work processes. There are currently four robots in operation and over 30 processes in production. Disciplines that have started to use automated processes are, among others, health, nurseries and schools, HR, finance and administration.
