The current buildings are not modern and are characterised by wear, age and requirements for upgrading. The project comprises approx. 37,000 m2 total renovation and alterations to the police building itself and approx. 7,000 m2 of new buildings, as well as outdoor works. The police centre itself has protection class 2 in the National Protection Plan and parts of the green areas, as well as the police station itself, is on the Cultural Heritage Management Office ́s yellow list. Justification for using the exception PPR § 7-9 (5): This is a procurement of consulting engineers for ground works and for water, sewage and surface water, which shall be a part of The Directorate of Public Construction and Property ́s professional resources in connection with the preliminary project phase of Oslo Police Hall.
