Regulation (EU) 2017/625 on official controls, ensures the verification of compliance with food and feed law, plant and animal health and animal welfare laws. The appointed National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for GMFF has the duty of informing and advising the Contracting Authority, by providing scientific and technical assistance, and by assisting in food/feedborne incidents and outbreak situations by performing confirmatory analyses.
