EirGrid and SONI wish to engage an Energy Trading Partner to facilitate counter-trading. The expected situations that will generate trade volume requests from the TSOs to the Energy Trading Partner are: Priority Dispatch Security of Supply Optimisation of the Large Single Infeed Testing of Interconnectors The Trading Partner will act to sell or buy electricity from the GB market following market gate closure on I-SEM. The applicable TSO will identify the volume of energy required to be counter-traded over each DC interconnector. The Trading Partner may be responsible for setting up the required market infrastructure (e.g. registration of units) and systems to allow such trades to occur. The Energy Trading Partner will be required to register (at their cost) Balancing Mechanism Units (BMUs) as detailed below. The EWIC BMUs should have a Generation Capacity and a Demand Capacity of 1030 MW (representing the full potential swing of the interconnector).
