The initial contract will be awarded to the successful tenderer shortly after the formal establishment of the framework agreement. The new system will facilitate the: 1. Registration, of over 7,000 craft 2. Purchase, permits to moor a houseboat on a canal. 3. Distribution, of boat registration plates 4. Payments and refunds, via debit/credit card, standing order and on occasion cash. 5. Renewals, of all registrations and permits periodically as required. 6. Notices, the logging, communication and payment of fixed penalty notices. 7. Oversight, allow Waterways Ireland staff quickly check that a crafts registration or permit is compliant. 8. Reporting, of all activity on the waterways to help Waterways Ireland manage their assets. 9. The payment process should integrate with Waterways Ireland’s finance system. The desired outcomes of this project are: • Create an online experience that is exceptionally easy to use for boaters and Waterways Ireland • Streamline and automate the processes connected to the customer portal to lower the administrative burden on Waterway Ireland • Generate new data and insights on the usage of waterway
